  • Library Media Connection : Library Talk Reviews 1998 November
Greenhill Farm is quiet in the early morning, but then the rooster begins to crow. Suddenly, the farm is alive with the sounds of animals and their babies. The simple text in a large font, accompanied by drawings of the farm and photographs of individual animals that makes this book appealing to both pre- and early readers. The names of the animals and their young, the sounds they make, and the names for different body parts (the snout of the pig, or the bill of the goose) are clearly illustrated both within the story and in the picture glossary in the back of the book. This book will be a good read-aloud and will appeal to emerging readers, especially those who like animals. Highly Recommended. Ashley W. Larsen, School of Information and Library Science, UNC-Chapel Hill © 1998 Linworth Publishing, Inc.
