%% This is a multi-book review: SEE also the title "Fire Fighters". %% Gr. 1^-3. In Truck Trouble, the easier of these two new Eyewitness Readers, driver John has a hard time making his special delivery to the children's hospital. The posed photographs show him radioing for help for a disabled van, changing a flat tire, and driving through a rainstorm. The many photos are in brilliant full color, the type is large, the sentences are short, and there's even a little zip of suspense (Will he arrive at his destination on time?). Fire Fighters has a slightly longer, more difficult text, and photographs taken at the scene of a house fire make the book seem less staged. Children will be relieved when a missing child is found safely down the street. The book also includes touches of humor and a list of suggestions for fire safety in the home.
